Big Impact Plants: Gardening with Keystone Species – In Person
September 14 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
FreeNot all plants are created equal when it comes to supporting wildlife! Keystone species provide an outsized ecological benefit, supporting significantly more pollinators, caterpillars, birds, and other wildlife than many other plants in our landscapes. In this lecture, ecological garden designer Erica Gormley will explore what makes a plant a “keystone species,” highlight some of the most valuable native trees, shrubs, and perennials for our region, and share practical ways to incorporate them into gardens of any size. Learn how a few thoughtful plant choices can make a surprisingly big difference for local biodiversity.
