As of August 2025, we have expanded our Jump Into a Book! Immersive Reality (IR) collection. We now have 34 books in this collection, each of which allows users to experience both IR and augmented reality. All you need is an IR book, a pair of virtual reality goggles, and a free app on your smartphone.
New titles include Ancient Rome, Dolphins, Mosasaurs, and Tyrannosaurus Rex!
When there are two IR books on a particular topic, one book will be targeted for a younger audience (typically ages 4 to 7) and one book will be targeted for an older audience (ages 8 and up). The IR experience remains exactly the same.
Important Details:
⭐ 3 IR books per family (regardless of which library cards are used)
⭐ Titles circulate for 14 days
⭐ You may use your own VR (virtual reality) goggles or check out a pair from the children’s room
⭐ A free app on your smartphone is required to get the full IR experience; a QR code to download the app is on the front cover of each book
⭐ IR books cannot be placed on hold
⭐ VR goggles checked out from the Denville Library need to be returned at the front desk
⭐ SANITATION: When goggles are returned, they are sanitized in a UV light box, killing 99.9% of contaminants
