Event Details

Kids in kindergarten and first grade, we have a new program to help you practice your reading skills!
Join us on four consecutive Thursdays beginning on January 12th at 4:30 pm for The Book Detectives. Each week, we’ll explore a new book, learn about the author, and discover more about their writing style. It’s okay if you can’t yet read independently … we’ll have puzzles, games, and activities each week to practice reading skills.
In our first session, we’ll read Carl Sams’ photographic picture book Stranger in the Woods and talk about how the author uses pictures to share his story. Then we’ll each pick an animal from the book and tell the story from their point of view. We’ll also match animal photos to words, practicing our letters and sounds. We’ll even do some fun warm-up and cool-down activities. We can’t wait!
You are registering for the entire four-week session (it’s okay to miss a week!). Please register on the RSVP button below. Thank you!
