Denville Voices and the Denville Public Library will be hosting “Critical Race Theory: Realities, Controversies, and Implications” presented by Mayowa Obasaju, PhD, adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and co-owner of Barrow & Obasaju Consulting.  Mayowa will provide information about what Critical Race Theory (CRT) is and is not, the foundations of the current controversies over CRT, and its implications for anti-racist work.

The following questions will frame the conversation:

⭐️ What is Critical Race Theory, its history and current day manifestations?

⭐️ Why is Critical Race Theory suddenly in public dialogue?

⭐️ What does the current discourse around Critical Race Theory have to do with anti-racist work?
