Dip into a vat of delectable delights:  find out how a boy with a 4th-grade education became the world famous “Chocolate King.”  Expected to be a family farmer, fired as an apprentice, Hershey became an innovative entrepreneur, world-famous producer of chocolate, philanthropist, creator of a town built on chocolate, and founder of The Hershey Company (worth 100+ million at the time of his death).  The instructor will provide a savory confection of dreams, drive, struggle, failure, and successful capitalism – all in the pursuit of chocolate.  Samples will be provided.  Lecture by Daniel Rose.

What happens when a ravioli is pressed in a waffle iron? Is it still a ravioli? We’ll experiment with foods you wouldn’t expect to cook in a waffle iron and taste our creations. Come and see what you can and can’t cook in a waffle iron.  Sure to be full of fun and surprises.  Inspired by Daniel Shumski’s book “Will if Waffle?: 53 Unexpected and Irresistible Recipes to Make in a Waffle Iron.”    Space is limited!   Sign up early.  Open to teens aged 16+ and adults.  Hands on food prep program. Please advise of any allergies in advance.

Come and join our informal daytime knitting and crocheting MONTHLY group.  We’ll meet the last Tuesday of the month, mostly.  Instructor Maria will be on hand for questions, coaching and lessons if needed.  Bring your needles, hooks, yarn and let’s get crafty!

  • If you wish to learn to knit please bring a skein of bulky yarn and size 9 or 10 knitting needles
  • If you wish to learn to crochet please bring a skein of bulky yarn and a size I, K or M crochet hook.
