The Great Falls of Paterson

on Tue, 07/29/2014 - 7:03pm

Cotton and silk for clothing; locomotives for travel; paper for books & writing letters; Lucky Lindy's plane engine. What do they have in common? They all came from the same place!

In 1791, Paterson (America's first planned industrial city) was established in the area centered around the Great Falls of the Passaic River. From humble mills would rise industries that changed the face of the United States.

Recognized as a natural wonder in Colonial days, and recently designated a National Park, the Great Falls powered the factoriess of America's first great industrial city throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Kevin Woyce will present this program for us on Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00 pm.
